MYKAL STAR

Mike Chek Entertainment is introducing this young rising star and producer, Patrick Currence aka Mykal Star.  Following the footsteps of his older brother Rudy Currence, Mykal Star began playing the drums in their father’s church at age 5. Since then, he has traveled around the US performing in countless venues and main-stages.  Mykal Star has made several National Television appearances including performing with his brother Rudy on BET’s “106 and Park”.  He’s studied under some of the industry’s biggest producers including Brian Michael Cox, Polo Da Don, The Justice League, Chuck Harmony, Salaam Remi, Rodney Jerkins and Midi Mafia.

Mykal Star’s production can be heard on many up and coming artist.  Also, he’s produced tracks on his brother, Rudy’s independent releases, “More Than You’ll Ever Know”, “Here With You” and “Last Christmas”.  His sound is influenced by and  often compared to great producers like Timbaland, Pharell Williams, and Rodney Jerkins.  Mykal Star aspires to soon become an internationally known artist and producer leaving his mark not only on the music industry but around the entire world.
